Preview of my November voting advice

24 Feb

I am working on a post that essentially asks the question of why anyone would vote for President Bush in November. However, the Center for American Progress got a jump on me and did much of the work for me.

In two separate speeches to governors, President Bush attempted to recast his record after a month that has seen his public support drop precipitously. But to echo the recent cover of Time Magazine, the disconnect between the President's rhetoric yesterday and the reality in America is now highlighting a very serious question: "Does President Bush Have a Credibility Gap?" If yesterday's two speeches are any indication, the answer is a resounding yes. As a new American Progress backgrounder shows, on everything from homeland security to taxes, from jobs to the economy, the President's words appear almost completely divorced from his record and from well-reported facts.

Read the highlights and wait for my own take on the President's record.
