Democratic Deficit

29 Sep

I continued to be fascinated with the fetish European politicians have with the so called "democratic deficit." I'm glad that a few are fighting back:

"The European Commission is condemned in the tabloid papers as a body of unelected bureaucrats, but every commissioner is subjected to a degree of scrutiny unknown to the British system," said Davies, [A liberal democratic MEP].

"If there is a democratic deficit in Europe it starts not in Brussels but at Westminster."
