House of Commons Hijinks

29 Jun

I found this exchange in the House of Commons rather amusing. The Rev. Ian Paisley, an MP from Northern Ireland famous for his radical Protestant fundamentalism, was giving a speech when he was interrupted by a heckler. His response was very effective:

Rev. Ian Paisley: I have escaped the fires of hell so far, and I intend to do so in another world.

Mr. Leigh: Just wait.

Rev. Ian Paisley: I have faith in Jesus Christ, the saviour of sinners, and I recommend it to the sinner who is trying to heckle me.
